We have developed an approach to face-to-face fundraising that we call differentiation. This means treating the people we meet as individuals with their own particular needs and preferences, and respecting their right to choose. Our goal is to ensure that people feel valued and respected, and are left feeling positive about the charity. Potential supporters are accompanied through their decision making process. Their wishes are fully accepted and respected at all stages of the process, including a decision to say 'no'. By making the experience a positive one, people who decide not to support this year, may give in following years. Our goal is to ensure that the people we meet on behalf of our clients feel valued and respected, and are left with a positive perception of the charity, even if they decide not to support it. We offer our staff ongoing, professional training so that they develop an ever-deeper understanding of the skills required to be a successful fundraiser. It is our aim to support people in using and developing their talents such that their work is a creative and rewarding part of their life. Our training equips fundraisers to be both effective in raising income and excellent representatives for the charity. They are encouraged to excel through gaining a strong appreciation of the principles that underpin their training and we provide comprehensive support throughout each fundraiser’s career.
