Our fundraising is relaxed, respectful, and non-invasive. It requires intelligence, assertiveness, commitment, and self-awareness on the part of the practitioner. Our training helps fundraisers to develop these attributes. Basic training covers six weeks. It consists of six day time training sessions, three in the first week, two in the second and one in the third, plus time spent fundraising. The weekly time commitment, training and fundraising, is a total of 22½ hours. The training, like the work, is differentiated - it has a timetable but no fixed structure. The training focuses on the legal requirements for fundraising, as well as exploring the four main stages of fundraising 1. Making and sustaining contact with people. 2. Establishing Interest. 3. Dealing with supporters concerns, queries, and doubts. 4. Reaching a final decision – Asking. This training will also be complemented in the following ways. 1. Visiting individuals while they are at work. 2. Counselling individuals away from the training group. 3. Providing telephone support when problems arise. 4. Weekly support meetings. Our managers are highly experienced in providing differentiated training to our staff. By providing comprehensive training and support, we offer our fundraisers the greatest possible opportunity to succeed, and the ability to raise significant income for their charity.
